Lanzavecchia + Wai channels the colours of Italy's landscape for Mirage's Transition collection

With a majority of its composition sourced from production waste, 's porcelain tile range for Mirage offers a tactile and tactful solution for surfacing interiors in a sustainable manner.

The Italian slash Singaporean duo reference Italian culture with their design for the Transition collection. Informed by the country's ancient roots in craftsmanship, Transition employs traditional methods merged with the technology of industrial processes. Transition is characterised by the natural appearance of the stoneware's textured finish, which reveals its woven details with each step closer to the product. Overlaid with layers of colours, the collection's colour range is inspired by the neutral shades of the Mediterranean landscape. Five tints which evoke the imagery of their namesake cities, ranging from Italy's northern region – Torino and Milano – to the south – Matera, Ostuni and Lecce.

Whether its a residential or commercial setting, the tiles of Transition are ideal for floors and ceilings and everything in between. Squares or elongated rectangles produce elegant geometric backgrounds which can be of a singular hue or a gradient of shades in the same hue.

Mirage's inner green spirit is omnipresent through the brand's integration of production waste into the ceramic mix, using 25% od pre-consumer waste again in their factory processes. Locally sourced sand – literally arriving from zero miles away – contributes to the high quality result found in Mirage's products. Completed materials are packaged with 100% recylced cardboard and delivered on pallets made entirely from recycled wood.
