Headquarters by UXUS

A conference room in the offices of UXUS in the historical Astoria building in Amsterdam.

For their offices in a historical building in central Amsterdam, design studio created a space that contrasts old glamour with industrial cool.

The aesthetic is built around their philosophy of “Brand Poetry”, the company says, playing on the tension between contrasts. In the space, a Art Nouveau lobby is tempered by a modern staircase, a thick oak door is suspended in transparent walls, and a vintage elevator is exposed behind the glass of the communal kitchen.

The furniture is a mash-up, mixing bespoke pieces with ‘found’ items and their own designs, including lights intersected with orange packing tape, underneath a church-esque apse with wooden beams in the conference room.
